Yes…I stayed home on Saturday night and watched Lindsay Lohan’s “comeback” on SNL. Yes…I will share my thoughts.
- Lohan looked on point and was seemingly sober…you go girl!
- The “Mean Girls” star poked fun at herself…I endorse this.
- I think Lohan’s best moment on SNL was the “Disney Housewives” skit, which was not live.
- The second best skit was “House Sitting.” Let’s be honest…Kristen Wiig stole the spotlight on this one.
- Even though the critics are saying Lohan didn’t do so hot (for example: reading cue cards) I am giving her five thumbs up! She did a…dare I say…classy job.
Generally speaking, I have many favorite Lohan moments, but I would like to share one in particular…Let’s bring it back to the singing career.
Ahh yes…”Rumors.” What a great song to sing while you are on a road trip in your car…alone.
Lohan revealed a lot about herself in this song/music video:
- She’s tired of rumors starting and she’s sick of being followed
- She likes to dance provocatively in elevators…first thing we have in common
- She’s gonna live her life and not the way we want her to…yea we got that memo
- Lohan climbed into a bird cage way before Miley did
- She leaves da club the same way I do…via helicopter…second thing we have in common
Dear Lindsay, Here is me wishing you a successful comeback. I’m so glad you’re clawing your way out of the ginormous, Grand Canyon-like hole you have plummeted into. I’m so elated that it’s not “Over.” Love, Kari
This beauty is a living legend…you can look but don’t touch. No really, she’ll probably kick your ass.
Since Betty has been actively acting since 1949, my memory is a little fuzzy on that portion of her life…so I’ll stick with the past few years.
Betty White has been killing it. She is currently starring on the sitcom “Hot in Cleveland” and if I do say so myself, she is the hottest lady on the show.
Along with her sitcom, she was a write-in candidate to host SNL. Over 300,000 fans joined a Facebook campaign called “Betty White to Host SNL (please?)!” The fans won and Betty did a great/hilarious job as host. They even scheduled a suitable musical guest to go along with her personality…Jay-Z (Hova).
Betty is also adding politics to her busy schedule. How you ask? By throwing her hat into the presidential campaign ring. I don’t even need to hear a peep out of her…she’s my national treasure! Vote Betty!
The Betty White ensemble is extremely easy to put together and quite comfortable. The particular look I’m suggesting consists of:
- Black trousers with elastic band.
- Black but sparkly undershirt and long sleeve shirt to keep the chill out. Easily found at Macy’s.
- A touch of ruby red lipstick.
- Slap on a shiny necklace.
- Don’t forget to get your hair did. Ask for the Betty…any hairstylist will know what you mean.
So that concludes my Halloween costume advice. I will leave you with one thought…In the words of Lindsay Lohan, “In Girl World, Halloween is the one night a year when a girl can dress up like a total slut and no other girls can say anything about it.” Ladies, take advantage of it.
This hil.ar.ious lady has been in the acting business since 1997! She has recently floated into spotlight for her portrayal as Megan in one of my new favise films, “Bridesmaids.”
Let’s bring it back to August 26, 1970. This day in Plainfield, Illinois…Melissa was birthed. She was raised on a farm and went to Catholic school…all of that screams future comedian to me.
After graduating from school, Melissa peaced out and moved to New York City. She rode the stand-up comedy train and was a member of The Groundlings comedy troupe.
The Groundlings also brought Melissa a gift besides fine-tuning her comedic pipes…a husband! While a part of the troupe, Melissa met her future husband and baby daddy, Ben Falcone.
Hopping to 1997, Melissa was given her first onscreen role by her cousin, Jenny McCarthy (fun fact!) and appeared on “Jenny.” Melissa continued to nab many supporting roles and in 2000 she landed in Stars Hallow, Connecticut taking on the role of Sookie St. James on “Gilmore Girls. Sookie is described as “the loveable control freak and scatterbrain/klutzy best friend of Lorelai Gilmore.” Sadly, in 2007 the “Gilmore Girls” run came to an end.
A few additional notches on Melissa’s resume include guest roles on “Private Practice” and “Rita Rocks.” As for movies, Melissa had supporting roles in “The Back-Up Plan” and “Life As We Know It.”
It wasn’t until 2010 where Melissa finally stepped out of the supporting roles and into the lead. Currently, Melissa is staring as Molly on the CBS sitcom “Mike & Molly.” In case you didn’t read my extremely well written Emmy blog post, Melissa won the Outstanding Lead Actress in a Comedy Series Emmy for this role!
Melissa really turned heads as Megan in “Bridesmaids” and there are just so many hilarious/ridiculous scenes to mention. Here is a good one:
I’d like to thank Melissa for adding a new phrase to my vocab… “yea oh shit. yea oh shit.”
Recently, Melissa’s schedule has gotten quite full. She is in the planning process of designing a plus-size clothing line and hosted “Saturday Night Live” this past week. This funny lady has received glowing praise for her hosting duties! Good work boo. Looking forward to the laughs you will be delivering in the future!
Why do I want to have dinner with Melissa:
Why not!? She’s funny as hell. So funny that I hope I don’t pee my pants while we are in public.
One question I couldn’t leave without asking:
How many takes did it take for you to get through the airplane scene with air marshal John?
Where I would want to have dinner:
Don Pablos. We need to be in an arena that serves margaritas and chips & salsa.
Now is the time of year when students are graduating and heading off into the “real world.” Right before graduating from college, my friends and I would reminisce by kicking around our favorite “Remember Whens.” In honor of all the graduating students, we want to share our favorite celebrity remember whens.
Remember when Paris, Lindsay, and Britney were friends?
Towards the end of 2006, Britney Spears was single and ready to mingle. Spears teamed up with Paris Hilton, who was known for dancing on tables and Lindsay Lohan who was a veteran to the party scene. It was the hot mess express coming through.
The girls were seen at clubs, cruising around all night and showing up at celebrity hot spots like the Beverly Hills Hotel. While many expected this behavior from Hilton and Lohan, many were surprised to see Spears alongside them. She is a mother of two boys. Sadly, the dream team couldn’t last forever. Spears ended up in rehab and in an emotional blackout, Hilton was thrown into the slammer, and Lohan was incarcerated and tossed into rehab!
Remember when Ben Affleck was going to marry J.Lo?
We all recall when Ben Affleck tried to fool us by marrying Jennifer Lopez. I’m not saying he wasn’t good enough for her, but their relationship felt weird. Dubbed by the media as “Bennifer” the couple attracted worldwide media attention when they began dating in 2002. Meeting on the set of “GiGi,” the couple was soon engaged and set to marry in September of 2003. A few hours before the ceremony, the wedding was called off and they officially split in January 2004.
We have to give it to these two; they did last longer than anyone ever imagined. J.Lo made sure we would remember “Bennifer” forever. Affleck made a cameo appearance in her “Jenny from the Block” video and she even wrote a song for her man, titled “Dear Ben.” A classy slow jam, J.Lo proclaims lyrics such as “I love you, you’re perfect/a manifestation of my dreams.” I bet Affleck’s current wife, Jennifer Garner isn’t a fan of “American Idol” anymore.
Remember When Ashlee Simpson got caught lip-syncing on SNL?
In 2004, Ashlee Simpson, sister of Jessica, was the musical guest on “Saturday Night Live,” the keyword being live. Simpson was set to perform a different song, but “Pieces of Me” started playing instead. Suddenly the audience heard Simpson singing but she wasn’t moving her lips! Gasp!
When Simpson realized what happened, she began to move awkwardly and then just walked off stage. Cut to the end of “Saturday Night Live,” Simpson and host, Jude Law, attempted to smooth this over. “What can I say it’s live TV,” said Law, while Simpson tried to blame her band. This was the beginning of the end of Simpson’s music career.
While there are thousands of “Remember Whens” that could be shared, here are just a few of my favorites. Here’s to looking forward to many more celebrity moments that we won’t forget. Remember celebrities, we are watching.
