It has been one century since the sinking of the Titanic. As you know, James Cameron and company re-released “Titanic” in 3D. Today, my friends and I went to see the re-release and I have to say…that damn movie get me every time.
My top three most unforgettable scenes from the film include:
- When Jack and Rose attend that sweet party below deck. I felt they really bonded while dancing their faces off.
- When Rose is going down in the lifeboat but jumps back onto the sinking ship to be with Jack a little bit longer. Then that flare goes off in the background. Tears, tears and more tears.
- Finally, the most memorable scene is when Jack and Rose get it in…obviously.
To commemorate “Titanic” in 3D I would like to share the one song that makes me weep within the first 5.9 seconds.
Damn you Celine!
Did you think I missed the hallowed day known as Topless Tuesday? Well have no fear…Kari is here!
I thought I would mix it up this week and post about this particular gentleman on Topless Wednesday instead of the typical Tuesday. This man is just that special…he has earned his own topless day of the week.
If you have been missing in action for the past few weeks, I’ll fill you in on the most important thing you may have missed. “Titanic” was released in 3D!
Personally, I’ve been waiting 15 years for this moment and in four days I will be sitting in the movie theatre with my sweet, sweet 3D glasses on experiencing “Titanic” like never before. Yes, I realize that I am a tad late in getting my behind to the movies…blame it on the #GradSchoolProblems.
Let’s be real…who doesn’t want to see a three-dimensional shot of Kate and Leo getting intimate on the bow of that majestic ship? You all know my answer.
Anywho, Leo is an extremely well-known actor that has starred in many amazing films such as, “The Aviator,” “Revolutionary Road,” and “The Departed.” Instead of giving a brief biography on Mr. DiCaprio, I’ve decided to share some unique facts about this beautiful man:
- Leo’s middle name is Wilhelm
- His film debut was in the groundbreaking 1991 film “Critters 3“
- Leo’s parents decided on the name Leonardo because his mother first felt Leo kick in the womb while she was gazing at a Leonardo Da Vinci painting
- Mr. DiCaprio originally turned down the roll of Jack Dawson in “Titanic.” Director James Cameron convinced him to sign on and thank God he did
- Leo recently bought an island in Belize which he plans to build an eco-friendly resort on…he’s a big fan of the Earth
On a final note, I just want to mention that I am still on Team Kate & Leo 4ever. I really don’t understand why they are continuously slapping cupid in the face and denying their love. Therefore, I’m taking donations in order to create Team Kate & Leo 4ever T-shirts for everyone.
Leo – The rapper Drake has stated in the past: “It must be hard to be that fine” in his song “Make Me Proud.” I think he’s talking about you boo!
This morning I was awoken by my roommate at approximately 8:46 a.m. This event made me confused and scared. After I overcame my emotions, it was time to make the important decision about a Topless Tuesday champion. That same roommate put me in a headlock and forced me to write about “the love of her life…”
If you haven’t seen or heard of Tom Hardy before, you need to get your eyes checked because he is everywhere these days. I first noticed Edward Thomas Hardy in a little movie called “Inception” with Leo DiCaprio <3
Born Sept. 15, 1977, this 34-year-old gentleman hails from London, England, more specifically Hammersmith. He also comes with a wonderful accent…sigh.
A younger version of Mr. Hardy studied drama at the Richmond Drama School and Drama Centre London…with a penchant for war dramas.
As you can probably tell, Tom Hardy doesn’t play any games with his career. His first major acting role was on the HBO miniseries “Band of Brothers” playing Pfc. John Janovec.
As for his first major film role, Tom played Spc. Lance Twombly in “Black Hawk Down” with Josh Hartnett…remember him? 2001 seemed to be a pretty good year for Tom and anyone who laid their eyes on him.
It wasn’t until 2010 that Tom really struck gold. He was cast as Eames in “Inception” and that movie was a big damn deal. Ever since his role in “Inception,” Mr. Hardy has been doing great things. He was cast in “Warrior” which was basically about two brothers who beat the living daylights out of eachother…yes I saw it theaters…worth it.
Funny story about that trip to the movies. I was the last person in the row with a few open seats next to me. As the movie went on, an 87-year-old gentleman kept creeping closer and closer to me…at least I know I still got it and I never ran so fast in my entire life.
After “Warrior” was released, Tom appears in the British spy (and confusing as hell) film “Tinker Tailor Soldier Spy.” Up next for Tom is a slightly evil role in a film that no one has probably heard of…”The Dark Night Rises.”
Even though Tom has a busy schedule, that doesn’t stop him from Snookin’ for Love. From 1999 until 2004, Tom was married to a woman named Sarah Ward. In 2008, Tom and then girlfriend Rachael Speed popped out a son, Louis. Currently, Tom is engaged to Charlotte Riley.
A surprising fact I learned about Tom in my intense research was that he was in rehab for alcoholism and a crack cocaine addiction! Shocking, right? Don’t worry though, Tom has been clean and sober since 2003. Point Tom.
Tom Hardy – My roommate screams your name in her sleep. Please contact me and I will give you her pager number…yes I said pager. My other roommates and the cats are tired of being woken in the middle of the night to the phrase “The love of my life…Tom Hardy.”
Charlotte York adopts a baby
Okay, Kristin Davis actually adopted a baby, but so did Charlotte York. You can’t be mad at me for getting confuzzled.
This “Sex and the City” diva has adopted a baby girl named, Gemma Rose Davis. Kirstin actually became a mom two months ago, but decided to keep it a secret until now.
“This is something I have wanted for a very long time,” Davis tells People. “Having this wish come true is even more gratifying than I ever had imagined. I feel so blessed.”
I’m so glad that Kristin went ahead and fulfilled her dream of being a mom without waiting on some dude. Speaking of dudes, did you know that Kristin has been romantically linked to Rick Fox, Liev Schreiber, Jeff Goldblum and Alec Baldwin? Nice work, girl!
I’d like to end this post with one of my favise quotes that Charlotte York ever uttered: “I’ve been dating since I was 15. I’m exhausted! Where is he?”
I hear you girl.
Leo DiCaprio is single and ready to mingle…again
After a long 5-month romance, Leo DiCaprio and Blake Lively are no longer a pair.
This past week, both their reps confirmed to “Us Weekly” that these two (ex)lovebirds have called it quits. Of course the F word was dropped. Reps added, “The pair remain friends.” Yea, okay.
Blake scored a pretty sweet deal. First spotted together back in May, Leo and Blake vacationed on Steven Spielberg’s yacht in Monte Carlo.
Following that, these two were seen all over the globe…Italy, California, New York City and even Australia! I’m sure if there were vacation spots in outer space, we would have seen pictures of these two floating around Pluto (I know it’s not a planet anymore, but I reject that informational detail).
Apparently Blake is already creeping on Ryan Reynolds. These two were seen taking a train to Boston…on to the next one, right? Leo is also on to the next one…Alyce Crawford from “America’s Next Top Model.” Girl, you better get down on your hands and knees and thank Tyra Banks.
I’ll admit it; I didn’t like Blake and Leo as a couple. I kept thinking, “Blake get out of Kate Winslet’s way!” I know I’m beating a dead horse, but let’s be real Kate and Leo are meant to be! Leo…don’t let Kate go…you promised.
Madonna + Super bowl = more than a nip slip
It was has been reported that Madonna will perform at the Super Bowl’s halftime spectacle. I haven’t enjoyed a halftime show since 2004…remember when Justin Timberlake exposed Janet Jackson’s nip (hahahaha)?
I feel like Janet has yet to recover from that incident, but Justin is still doing what he does…bringing sexy back and getting a huge paycheck for it.
If Madonna plays the show, I feel like The Queen of Pop is obligated to top the Jackson/Timberlake nipple debacle. Since the Catholics are already hollering to have Madonna banned from the Super Bowl, I think she’s is going to belt out “Like A Prayer” and maybe Jesus will be on tambourine.
The president of the Catholic League, Bill Donohue has said, “For decades, Madonna has blatantly offended Christians, especially Catholics. The offensive lyrics, lewd behavior and misappropriation of sacred symbols are reason enough not to have her perform.”
Hey Bill – did you go to catholic school? I side with Madonna on this one. Do what you do best girl…and offend the hell out of everyone.
I have noticed that a major difference between graduate and undergraduate classes is that in a grad program (or mine at least) you have a bit more freedom in what paper/assignments you take on.
I’m currently enrolled in Science & Technical Photo. As a class, we are learning the basics about cameras, lighting, aperture, etc. As our final project, we get to choose a photographer to profile and delve into their methods of taking pictures.
I have chosen Annie Leibovitz…big surprise there. Her name caught my eye because she is well known for snapping all those familiar faces we call celebrities. I watched a documentary on Annie and she sees photographs at capturing moments in time. That is a unique way of looking at photos, especially the ones we take of our friends at the bar. One day we will look back and say “remember when we could stay out will 4 and be at work by 9?
With this post, I wanted to share some of my fav pics that Annie has captured and made us feel that we are a part of the same moment.
If you go to NYC, this image is probably one that wouldn’t be to hard to replicate in real life. Except Sarah Jessica Parker would have her real life husband, Ferris Bueller hold her very expensive luggage, instead of Chris Noth. Because that’s what independent woman do.
Do you think celebrities really hang out like this in their off time? P.S. remember when Kate Winslet was in “Titanic?!”
In continuing with Titanic theme…
I have made a decision…decision made. I will watch the World Cup for the rest of my life.
I could probably make this post the longest blog post in the history of blog posts because Annie has captured so many amazing moments on film. All you have to do is Google her name and you can see her 30+ years of work. Thank you for the memories, Annie. You are unforgettable.
