While it may be some other religious-like holiday, I have officially deemed today…Drake Day.
Why you ask? One of the most handsome rappers alive has released not one…but TWO new music videos. I’ll give you a moment to process this greatness. Breathe into a paper bag if necessary.
The first music video is “HYFR” ft. Lil’ Wayne (ugh). It chronicles Drake’s re-bar mitzvah, which he celebrated back in 2011. The video starts off with a smaller version of Drake getting his groove on then transports us to the sweet, sweet party.
Leave it to Lil’ Wayne to be underdressed for the occasion.
The next video released on Drake Day is….”Take Care” ft. his number one lady Rihanna. Honestly, when are these two going to stop beating around the microphone and get married?!
It makes everyone on the planet so sad to continuously see the pain in Rihanna’s precious eyes.
While I don’t understand the concept of the snowy mountain, the big bird and the bull…I do love the shots of RiRi and Drizzy together.
Even though it is Drake Day…this message goes out to Rihanna: Girl, let Drake take care of you.
My New Obsession

I’m highlighting this because it makes me LOL every damn time.
If you didn’t know, MTV2 plays old school episodes of “Saved By the Bell” and “Boy Meets World” during the afternoon. This fits perfectly into my TV schedule…I have nothing to watch after “Maury.”
Anywho…I hope you enjoy this clip as much as I do!
P.S. The song Jessie Spano is shaking her thang to is “The Motto” by Drake.

I am finally ready to discuss the Rihanna and Chris Brown remixes.
These days Chris Brown seems to be everywhere my little ears are. So I must ask…will someone punch me in the ears? I’ll give you a free shot…or five.
Like all the other independent woman out there, the last place I expected to hear Chris Brown was on a Rihanna track! And the last place I expected to hear Rihanna was on a Chris Brown track!
If you’ve been M.I.A the past few days, let me give you the 411. Chris Brown is featured on the remix for Rihanna’s song “Birthday Cake” and Rihanna is featured on a remix of Brown’s “Turn Up the Music.” Both tracks were released this past Monday.
Precious Rihanna even tweeted about the remix…
Ever since Brown hurt this national treasure, there has always been the “Are they or aren’t they back together” rumor.
Not surprisingly there has been a boatload of outrage about Rihanna and Brown collaborating. Basically, people can’t believe Rihanna is associating with Chris Brown again…and I don’t blame them!
This controversy made me think about a time when Rihanna was so sad and sang about playing “Russian Roulette.” You can hear her pain pouring out in the lyrics. Rihanna’s pain = my pain.
Rihanna…stay strong boo.
Chris Brown…Nope, still haven’t forgotten.

My roommates and I have a list on our refrigerator that has two columns. The column on the right is titled “Demeaning to Women” and the column on the left is titled “Non-Demeaning to Women.” We have a variety of characters on the list and (of course) I will share some with you.
In the Non-Demeaning to Women corner, we have:

As for the Demeaning to Women corner:

So with this post, I would like to shine the spotlight on a person who is completing Non-Demeaning to Women acts.
This Wednesday, the Non-Demeaning to Women award goes to…
Drake

Not only is this gentleman handsome, he is releasing his second studio album “Take Care” Nov. 15. Drake has a song on the upcoming album that is (in my opinion) finally not demeaning to women. The track is called “Make Me Proud” and it features Nicki Minaj.
Side note: I have always thought Drake was a friend to women and I’m waiting for him to put a ring on Rihanna’s finger.
Back to the topic at hand. You might be wondering why I think this song is non-demeaning to women. Here are some lyrics to prove my point:

Celebs who would match on Match.com

This got me thinking that since celebrities are some of the busiest people, they might benefit from hopping online to find a date or whatever they’re into. I’ve decided to compose a post on which celebs would match up on Match.com.

As we all know, Beyoncé and Jay-Z currently hold the crown as royal couple of the hip-hop/R&B genres. Rihanna and Drake will have to settle for the princess and prince spot …for now.
These two are meant to be and they are slapping us in the face with their love every time they are within 10 feet of each other. If you’ve ever watched Rihanna’s video for “What’s My Name?” it’s like watching a newlywed couple…equally gross and cute…for us single ladies…more gross than cute.
While these two briefly dated last year, they decided to hold off because of that dumbass Rihanna previously dated (still haven’t forgotten Chris Brown). Rihanna also tried to date that sports guy, but he obviously wasn’t on her level. Hint, hint Rihanna…read the writings on the wall…they say DRAKE!
A few months ago, I heard these two lovebirds were spotted making out in Montreal – Drake is from Canada after all. Hopefully he took RiRi to meet the parents and got this ball rolling. Following the Montreal incident, it was reported that these two want to focus on their careers or want to date around or not in a place to commit…what I’m really hearing is blah, blah, blah. Stop beating around the bush and get it together!
First date location: an exotic island where Rihanna and Drake can get there grove on without the cameras.
Rihanna – I think Drake can go downtown with a girl exactly like you…he will make you feel like the only girl in the world.
Don’t fret – I’ll add more couples who would match up on Match.com throughout the day.
Stuck in My Head – ‘Up All Night’

Drake is one man that I would follow around like a lost little lamb. I have come to realize that I have a deep love for Canadian men – Drake is from Toronto. Another Canadian I <3 is Joshua Jackson, who hails from Vancouver (just incase he reads this…a girls gotta try). But that is neither here nor there.
We were introduced to Drake in 2001 when he took on the role of Jimmy Brooks on “Degrassi: The Next Generation.” When a fellow Degrassi student shot Jimmy, Drake cruised in a wheelchair the rest of the show. I must say, he handled it well.
Realizing he was born to be a rapper, Drake dropped the acting gig and picked up a mic.

I remember the first Drake song I ever heard…”Best I Ever Had.” One of my former co-workers played it on repeat at her desk for a full 8 hours (Yes Kathleen…I’m talking about you haha)! After that day, I knew Drake was here to stay. I also learned that if anyone wanted to torture me, Drake was not the artist that would get me to spill the beans!
After rocketing towards success very quickly, Drake released “Thank Me Later” June 15, 2010. One of the tracks that I am a huge fan of and like to play quite loudly in my Honda is “Up All Night.” It will make you feel boss even if your cruising on a bicycle…not that there’s anything wrong with that!

It would be a sin if I forgot to mention this…Nicki Minaj guest stars on this jam. I hope I don’t get beat up for saying this, but I really enjoy her more when she is featured on tracks! Anywho, she adds a little extra umph to this song.
